Design

The Bessie May Smile Cushionous is designed to fit either a 45cm or 43cm cushion pad. Styled with symmetrical stripes that pop colour and shape, highlighting four distinct Bessie May shades.

Technique

All worked in knit stitch, with easy increase and decrease shaping growing the front and back cover in one piece. Can be simply seamed around the cushion pad (43cm), or with added side detailing to include side borders to two sides, one including button bands (45cm).

Yarn:  Bessie May Smile extra fine merino:  5 x 50g Balls, two Battleship, and one each of Mist, Sorbet and Lichen

Notions: Needles: 1 x 4.5mm circular needles (60cm length minimum), additional needle for binding off if working border design, 5 x 2cm buttons, Stitch Marker, 1 cushion pad, (43cm square for none border design, 45cm square for border/button band design)

Size: 43cm or 45cm square cushion, depending on design working (see Technique section above)
